What are some good reasons to get your concealed carry permit these days?
First, it’s your right as an American to “bear Arms.” According to the Constitution: “A well-regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed,” and sadly, you never know when you want might to use your firearm.
Next, in this increasingly violent society, it makes sense to be able to protect yourself and your loved ones at all times from any harm that may come your way. From robberies to assaults, society has become quite a dangerous place. Carrying a weapon allows you to defend yourself, which, in turn, helps scare the criminal away.
Also, it seems like there’s a good argument that mass shootings could/can be somewhat prevented if there’s someone there with a weapon and ready to shoot the gunman so they can’t do more harm. Obviously, police can’t be everywhere at all times, so it takes the work of armed citizens to help keep/restore order.
Another reason to get your concealed carry permit is the issue of timing– better to have a weapon on you when you need it than to have to wait around for help. Oftentimes, those who wait end up wounded or dead. Emergency responders try their best to get to bad situations quickly, but sometimes the difference between life and death comes down to minutes.
If you feel like you’re the protector of your family, then it makes sense to carry a weapon in order to feel assured that you have a way of defending yourself and them at any time. Whether you carry it under your clothing or, if you’re a lady, in your purse, the idea is that you’re prepared against attack at a moment’s notice.
Finally, it’s worth getting your concealed carry permit in order to learn more about gun safety as well as self-defense techniques. So many people are ignorant about such things, and ignorance is not a good choice these days.
